Dear Friends of HCEB,

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, surrounded by friends and family. As we transition into the holiday season and prepare to welcome the New Year, it’s natural to feel a mix of anticipation and uncertainty about the road ahead. These feelings are valid. While the future may be unpredictable, HCEB remains steadfast in its commitment to providing quality homes and programs that offer our tenants and clients a space to settle, heal, and thrive.

Over the past few years, we’ve expanded our services to include innovative programs for individuals living in encampments—providing safe spaces where they can live with their partners, pets, and possessions while working alongside our dedicated staff to secure permanent, affordable housing. Additionally, we’ve successfully employed many of our clients, helping them gain essential income and valuable experience in the field, paving the way toward lasting housing solutions.

Navigating the East Bay’s challenging housing market is no easy task. That’s why HCEB and our partners are actively developing new permanent supportive housing. Last year, we introduced 67 new permanent supportive homes, and in 2025, we will add another 166. While we are proud of these achievements, we recognize there is still much work to be done to address the critical housing needs of individuals with disabilities, chronic health conditions, those living in shelters or encampments, and families fleeing domestic violence. Rest assured, HCEB will continue to pursue every opportunity to expand access to quality, affordable, and permanent housing for our community.

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to join us in strengthening HCEB’s mission, broadening our impact, and increasing our capacity to create inclusive communities. Thank you for helping us bring our vision to life. As you give, please remember to take care of yourselves and one another this holiday season.

Warm regards,
Darin
